KOKO/Nigeria: Rotary International Club has distributed some birth delivery kits and cash gifts to expectant mothers and market women in Koko.
The gesture is part of the club’s yearly project to provide succour to the down trodden in the area.
This year, the project is geared towards maximising maternal and child health, with emphasis on expectant mothers at the Koko General Hospital, and promoting economic community development through the distribution of cash gifts to women at the Koko Market.
The President of Rotary International Club, Koko, Rotarian Oti Emmanuel, who was accompanied by some top members of the club during the exercise, said the club was committed to changing lives, adding that the exercise was one of the many activities of the club at uplifting humanity.
Also speaking, President-Elect of the club, Rotarian Oloma Eyewuoma, urged the women to make judicious use of the cash gifts, noting that the club was poised towards promoting economic community development.
Some of the expectant mothers and market women, who were full of appreciation on receiving the kits and cash gifts, thanked the members of the club for the gesture.
