Rotary Club Of Asaba New Era Installs 3rd President

ASABA/Nigeria: Rotary Club of Asaba, New Era, has installed Rotarian Ephraim Chukwuemeka as its third President.

The investiture ceremony which was conducted by the District Governor, Rtn. Chinedu Ikegwuani, who was represented by the Assistant Governor, Rtn. Princewill Mordi, had the third President, Rtn. Chukwuemeka and the board of directors / club members for the year 2024 – 2025 take    the oath of office.

In his acceptance speech, the president stated that the Rotary International President Stephanie Urchick, has charged them to make their clubs irresistible and by doing so, we will bring about the magic of rotary in our communities and around the world.

Rotarian Chukwuemeka averred, “I take this charge seriously and I pledge to do all I can, with the help of the board and club members to ensure we contribute to the development of our communities, to the generality of mankind”

He reeled out his project for 2024- 2025 Rotary year and the programmes are related to the stated avenues of service in the club.

The programmes include the feed the hungry project; community empowerment/ training programmes for farmers; donation of treated mosquito nets and delivery kits to expectant mothers; sponsorship of radio talk shows on mental health and care of the environment

Others are the planting of two hundred trees to support the ecosystem, donation of a minimum of $200 to the Rotary Foundation, as well as donation of school uniforms to selected primary schools in the community.

Rotarian Chukwuemeka called on all to support this cause in order to get a robust harvest at the expiration of his tenure.

Earlier, the immediate past president of Rotary Club of Asaba New Era, Rotarian Oge Nwokwule, expressed delight at the installation ceremony which he described as a peaceful transition.

Rotarian Nwokwule stated that the club was a young one faced with some challenges, but expressed thanks to God that they were able to surmount all the challenges faced.

According to him, “The success of the club can be ascribed to the support of the past Assistant Governor, Rotarian Faroumbi Abiodun and other past governors and club members.”

He congratulated the new president, Chukwuemeka, describing him as a man with focus and result-oriented, as he wished him well in piloting the affairs of the club for the next one year, promising to be a support system whenever the need arose.

Highlights of the event were the decoration of the president with the symbol of authority, fund raising, giving of awards and handing over formalities.
