Rotary Inaugurates Three Water Pumps In Effurun

EFFURUN/Nigeria: Rotary Club of Effurun has inaugurated three mono water pumps in Mammy Market, Three Battalion, Nigeria Army Barrack, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, as part of activities in celebrating the month of water, sanitation and hygiene worldwide.

Rotarian Ufuon Otite Douglas, the Assistant District Governor, District 941 during the inauguration, enjoined the beneficiaries to maintain the pumps so that they can continue to enjoy potable water.

He lauded members of the club in Effurun for contributing in diverse ways in bringing the project to reality.

The rotarian further said that the club would continue to provide water in densely populated areas in order to make life easier for the people.

The President of Rotary Club, Effurun, Rotarian Micheal Enehizena, revealed that the club decided to provide the pumps when residents in the market and settlement made a demand of potable water.

He charged the people not to only see the project as their own but to also guild against any attempt to misuse or destroy it.

Enehizena noted that the club would continue to ensure the inauguration of people-oriented development projects.

Some residents, who expressed joy during the inauguration, thanked the gesture of the rotarians and prayed to God for endless blessings over their lives.

The Commanding Officer of the Three Battalion, Nigeria Army, Major Shuabu Bala, who was represented by Major Harrison Olumekar, thanked Rotary Club of Effurun and encouraged other good-spirited Nigerians to emulate the club in enhancing the living conditions of the people.
