Participants in a one day conference organized at the instance of a nongovernmental foundation (N.G.O.) known as Rural Development and Reformation Foundation (RUDERF) at the Richardson Hostel Ireto road Sapele Delta State have appealed to the government, individuals, corporate organizations and all religious bodies in the country to come to their aid financially so that they could make a living from the skill accusation training they received during the programme.
A cross section of the participants including the initiator of the (N.G.O) Miss Alero Okoroleju Sandra remarked that the only way they could advance rapidly after all their training is empowerment to enable them start on their own, to be self-reliant and never to go about Looking for government jobs which are not easily available in the country today.
Miss Okoroleju a graduate from the university of Abuja who tagged the Conference “W.O.M.A.N conference 2016 conference” said the idea of the N.G.O came about upon her graduation from the university of Abuja as she gathered all her experience from a previous N.G.O, she worked for at the TESS foundation African, Abuja and Lagos respectively until she decided to come over to her home Delta State to set up her own N.G.O with the little savings she gathered
She said during her sojourn in those places, and having discovered her full potentials that the N.G.O was her calling she had no option but to come down to develop her own people since the young women in Delta State and Niger Delta region in particular needed an upgrade, for motivation and to be focused in life as well as to be given a more practical orientation which will guide them for their life time.
Miss Okoroleju added that after this maiden conference they will spread their tentacles to all parts of the state to get the young women from the streets through regular training in different vocations, where they will be inviting experts to train the women from time to time a feat they must achieve through the assistance of their intending sponsors for the betterment of all.
The initiator explained further that the overview of RUDERF project is aimed at addressing the issue of unemployment among the youth in Niger Delta and in Nigeria as a whole with a focus on the girl child to take them from the streets through education, skill acquisition programme to reduce restiveness and other vices, and a pathway initiative which is also aimed at assisting the child to discover their potentials early in life, Green tea project campaign against cultism start up initiates etc.
Miss Okoroleju added that the body which is none profit making in its entirely is committed to the empowerment and reformation through advocacy against vices ravaging our region which is militating against the youth contributing relevantly to the development of communities and the society at large.
