Rumbles in Ushie as PDP Hunts the Opposition

As the 2015 election approaches there is no end to tension do to politics. The people of Ushie community in Ndokwa east LGA is undergoing political in fight between the ruling party, The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the opposition, the All Progressive Congress (APC). Report reaching Ndokwa Reporters from members of APC is accusing the ruling party, the PDP of using state machinery to make the people of Ushie to support the party come 2015.

According to a member of APC, Mr Ogbogu, the PDP through the leaders in the community has been arresting and detaining members of the opposition. According to the APC, because of the massive support garnered by the party in the just concluded nationwide membership registration exercise, the PDP felt insulted been that one of the major contenders, Chief Obielum is from the community, and as a result the people of Ushie are duty bound to support their son.

However, a member of PDP from the community, Hon Felix Melinu has debunked the accusation. According to him, the APC members are only crying foul, because they cannot dislodge the PDP in the community and the state. So the only tactics is to cause tensions. To him, the country is a free society with right to associate and belong to organisations. What they are doing as a party is to use crude ways to gain ground, and garner sympathy, all this is to be relevant.
