UGHELLI/Nigeria: A senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and the Akpile of Olomu Kingdom, Chief Albert Akpomudje, has advised youths to be law-abiding at all times despite the economic situation in the country.
Chief Akpomudje gave the advice recently during the annual thanksgiving service of Olomu Kingdom held at the Anglican Church, Ogoni-Olomu.
Speaking to our correspondent in an interview, Akpomudje acknowledged that the year 2021 had been turbulent, faced with insecurity and economic hardship but stressed that doing anything criminal would only compound the problem.
“We want to encourage our youths to be law-abiding and maintain peace at all times. I want to encourage our youths that they should not be discouraged.
“We know that there are no jobs anywhere but our youths should look for something legal to make a leaving. Because doing anything that is criminal will not help them, ” he said.
Akpomudje commended people of Olomu Kingdom, especially the youths for the peaceful atmosphere existing there and encouraged them to continue in the spirit of peace for the overall development and progress of the kingdom.
He noted that leaders of the country at the national level had failed in providing security for the populace but added that the situation was not insurmountable.
Speaking on the thanksgiving, Akpomudje said that the program was held to acknowledge the goodness of God towards the Kingdom, and prayed that things would normalise in the years ahead.
