OKPANAM/Nigeria: Investment in the education sector, especially in the area of financial assistance and moral contributions to the educational needs of the less privileged, has been described as critical initiative geared towards the sustenance of the society.
The CEO / Proprietress of the Grace of Light Nursery and Primary School, Amachai Quarters, Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Mrs. Patricia Ideh, during a special home mass organised by the St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Okpanam to mark the opening of the school.
Mrs. Ideh, who reiterated her determination to achieve the building of the school for the benefits of the community, paid tribute to her late husband who she noted encouraged humanitarian activities and impacted on the educational wellbeing of several children back in the days in Benin city.
While saying that education was the bedrock of every society, Mrs. Ideh said that all through her life she had been into charity work.
She stated that the school fees of several indigent children were paid by she and her husband when they were in Benin city.
Mrs. Ideh, who attributed the successful completion of the school project to God’s benevolence, pledged to continue to impact positively on the lives of the vulnerable children and women in the society.
