ASABA/Nigeria: God fearing individuals, NGOs and agencies have been called upon to come to the aid of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the State.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals, Dr Andy Ilabor made the call when he visited the holding camps in Asaba and Illah respectively.
Dr Ilabor said that the visit was to remind them that the government of Delta State had not forgotten them and sued for their patience, saying that in no distance time the waters would recede so they could return to their various abode.
He stated that the mandate of the Directorate was to show love and care to the citizen of the state and that all hope were not lost but to look up to God that after the storm, come sunshine and that the condition was a temporary one, adding that for other challenges, the government would do its best to provide solutions.
While commending the good gesture of SDGs and the government, the Camp Administrator, Mr Okpor Daniel said that the relief material were timely, even as he appealed to the State Government to come to the rescue of Master Miracle Nwachukwu, a 12 year old boy who was diagnosed of Kidney infection by the Camp Medical Assistant.
Similarly, the Administrator of Morka Camp, Illah, Mrs Ufuoma Obiemenem thanked SDGs for the humanitarian act towards the needy, saying that the relief materials would be put to good use.
