ABUJA/Nigeria: The Senate Ad-Hoc Committee investigating the ongoing crude oil theft in the Niger Delta has announced new dates for its postponed public hearing. Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, Chairman of the Committee, confirmed the rescheduling of the hearing on Saturday, following the Senate’s change in its resumption date from April 29 to May 6, 2025.
The two-day public hearing will now take place on Thursday, May 15, and Friday, May 16, 2025, at the Senate Conference Room 022, located in the Senate New Building at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja. The proceedings will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday and 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
Stakeholders who wish to participate are asked to submit 35 hard copies and one soft copy of their memoranda to the Committee Secretariat at Room 2.2, White House, Senate, no later than Thursday, May 15.
In a statement, the Committee apologized for any inconvenience caused by the rescheduling and expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their continued cooperation. Additionally, the public is encouraged to share credible information on illegal oil bunkering activities, with the assurance that such contributions will be valued and rewarded.
