Senator Nwoko Pushes for Road Rehabilitation After Critical Engagement with FERMA, Niger Delta Affairs Ministry

ABUJA/Nigeria: Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, on Thursday, April 10, visited the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs to discuss ongoing infrastructure developments across Nigeria, with a particular focus on his constituency.

The senator was received by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Engr. Abubakar Momoh. The meeting centered on reviewing development plans and exploring potential partnerships for 2025, aimed at bolstering critical infrastructure in the region.

This visit is the latest in a series of strategic engagements by Senator Nwoko, following similar meetings with the Minister of Works and the Managing Director of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Engineer Chukwuemeka Agbasi. During those meetings, the senator raised concerns about the deteriorating condition of the Lagos-Asaba Expressway, particularly the section between Alifekide and the Asaba Bridge, which had become a death trap due to poor maintenance.

In response to Senator Nwoko’s advocacy, rehabilitation work has since commenced on the damaged sections of the expressway, a critical development for the safety of road users and the economic stability of the region.

Senator Nwoko’s proactive approach underscores his commitment to ensuring that Delta North remains a priority in Nigeria’s infrastructure agenda, as he continues to push for sustainable solutions to the region’s pressing needs.
