BENIN-CITY/Nigeria: The Deputy Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ochor Christopher Ochor has promised to champion the advocacy for adequate preparation of Delta State schools for the Seplat Pearls Quiz Competition in future, adding that the platform promises to be a veritable initiative for breeding of prospective future leaders.
The lawmaker made this assertion yesterday Thursday 19th November, 2020, at the Imaguero College, Benin City, venue for the 9th edition of the NPDC/Seplat Pearls Quiz Competition as a Special Guest of Honour.
Ochor while briefing newsmen at the end of the programme, congratulated Delta representatives for emerging 2nd and 4th positions in the competition, but maintained however, that Delta has a better chance of taking the lead if adequately prepared and sponsored.
He said he would take up the advocacy by galvanizing the stakeholders in the State to not only adequately prepare Delta students for this legacy initiative of Seplat, but to also ensure that the competition is held in the State for its next edition.
The legislator further affirmed that Delta deserves to be the next host of the programme, insisting that the State had provided enabling environment for Seplat to operate and also had enjoyed cordial working relationship with the company.
At the end of the grand-finale of the Seplat Pearls Quiz Competition, Mac-Neil Secondary School Sapele lost the first position to St. Michael College, Benin City, while St. John College Oleh equally lost the third position to Glory Land School Igarra.
