AGBOR/Nigeria: The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, faithfuls has been called to give their total supports to all the chosen candidates of the party in the January 6, 2017 Local Government Election in Delta State.
The call was made recently in Agbor, when the campaign train of the party berthed there, by the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Religious Matters, Bishop Greatman Nmalagu.
The religious aide to the governor said that the forthcoming election is the best time to prove the love the electorates have for Deltans and the governor.
“Now is the right time to prove, you love Delta state and Governor Okowa”. He said.
He said that the best way to prove you love somebody is by wishing the person you love good, and not evil.
“The best way to prove you love somebody is by wishing the Person good. Not only wishing him good, but do him and his people good and not evil.”
Bishop Nmalagu said that the present government started in a period of recession across the nation, which badly affected the state, coupled with the agitation of the militants as a result of marginalization of the Niger Delta.
“There is no doubt that the present administration of Sen. Dr. Okowa started at the period of recession across the Nation. At the same period, Delta state was badly hit by the agitation effects of Niger- Delta Militants reactions over the negligence and marginalization of the region by the Federal Government which worsened the economy of the state.”
He pointed out that despite the hard period, the government under Senator Ifeanyi Okowa braised all odds to create jobs, empowerment programs, and developmental strides across the state.
He said that with the strides achieved, those who proclaim love for the party, and the governor have to show the love now, by showing their supports by voting for the chairmen and councilors elected during the party primaries.
“Now is the right time to prove you love Delta state and Governor Okowa by supporting all his candidates for the Local government council elections”.
“All aspirants who lost during primary elections must join hands with the people who won the primaries to prove their true love and ensure that there is peaceful and successful election come 2018 and 2019”.
“Whosoever that claims to love Delta state and the Governor must work hard now and not to wait for 2019. Our 2019 victory starts now”.
He reminded the party faithful that the various religious bodies are already mobilizing for 2018 and 2019, as God has already given the present government in Delta the grace to continue.
“God has already given the present administration the grace to continue for second tenure, come 2019 that is why working hard is not a bad thing”.
Bishop Nmalagu said that the victory of the chairmen and counselors across the state is the smooth victory of the Governor.
“Therefore, all of us who love Delta state and the Governor must join hands with him in prayers and working for a very successful election come January, 2018”.
“The prosperity SMART agenda of our amiable Governor is for all Deltans. Now is the best and right time to prove our love for him. Thus, if you love him and the state you should also love the people endorsed by the ruling party in Delta state which is People Democratic Party ( PDP)”.
