OWA-ALIZOMOR/Nigeria: The Chairman of Ika North East Local Government Area, Hon. Victor Ebonka has harped on the need for youths to shun cultism, illegal migration and other social vices.
Hon. Ebonka made the call during the final of the annual football competition of Owa-Alizomor community in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The competition was between four quarters in Owa-Alizomor Community.
According him, I was excited when the idea of the competition was muted, because I knew that it will foster unity and connection between the people, particularly among the youths.
Continuing, he advised the youths to shun cultism, intake of hard drugs, illegal migration to outside countries and other anti-social vices.
“Avail yourselves of activities and ventures that will lead to a better you and upliftment of your families,” he stated.
Speaking further, he charged members of the community to vote for all PDP candidates in the forthcoming election so they enjoy more development.
Also speaking, Vice Chairman, Owa-Alizomor Development Union, (ODU),Mr. Chuks Ikuh while presenting trophies to the various Quarters, described youths as an active sectors of any given society.
He encouraged the youths to be up and doing by planning well for the betterment of their future.
In his remarks, the Special Assistant to the Governor Okowa on Youth Mobilization, Hon. Princewill Onuodafin, while appreciating Hon. Ebonka for sponsoring the annual football match, described sports activities as the most essential and unifying factors in the world.
“I want to also use this occasion to commend the Ika North East Local Government Chairman for the new look that the locality is wearing,” he stated.
