ASABA/Nigeria: The Commissioner, Higher Education, Engr Jude Sinebe, has strongly condemned the gruesome murder of the 300 Level Mass Communication student of the Delta State University, Abraka, Miss Elozino Joshuala Ogege.
Engr Sinebe made this statement in his office while briefing the press over the killing by ritualists, suspected to be yahoo boys.
The Commissioner who sympathized with the parents, family and the management and students of Delta State University, Abraka for the irreparable loss of a promising student, stated that he has been in touch with the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof Victor Peretomode, and appealed to the students and the general public to be calm and go about their normal activities without fear of molestation as the state government and the University management in collaboration with the security agents are on top of the matter.
He also stated that Delta State Police Command has promised that no stone would be left unturned until all the culprits were brought to book to serve as deterrent to others, even as he used the opportunity to assure all that the Okowa led administration would continue to provide adequate and conducive learning environment for students as well as guarantee the essence for been within the tertiary institutions.
Engr Sinebe appealed to parents to monitor their children and wards and be weary of the friends and peers they keep and to avoid suspicious movements, late nights and receiving calls from unknown persons.
