South-West Leaders Angry Over Buhari’s Dismal Performance • Unite against Mr. President • Vow to Stop Him in 2019

LAGOS/Nigeria: South-West leaders on Monday labelled President Muhammadu Buhari a failure.

They complained about the president’s inability to grow the economy, create jobs and ensure higher standard of living.

At a meeting in Lagos, the leaders said the misguided policies of President Buhari resulted in a stagnant economy.

“The policies of the All Progressives Congress (APC)   pulled the country into a poverty trap” the leaders said.

They condemned the continuous slaughtering of innocent Nigerians by herdsmen in the country.

A statement by the Chairman, Yoruba Unity and Development Forum, Chief Tajudeen Adeyinka said Buhari performed poorly in most sectors.

“We are tired of the president’s dismal performance” the leaders said.

They cited fuel crisis, poor power supply, fall in the value of the nation’s currency, poor budget implementation, unemployment, insecurity, especially the wanton killings by Fulani herdsmen as areas where President Buhari has failed to make good on his campaign promises.

“Nigerians command enormous intellectual and material resources. For us in the South-West, there is only one homeland and the current appalling situation of Nigeria is unacceptable” the leaders said.

“We believe that all this can be changed, and can be changed in 2019. And it is precisely for that reason that we met in Lagos. We extend our hands to politicians in the South-East, South-South, North-Central, North-East and North-West. We are ready to work with them to achieve our set goals”.

They urged President Buhari not to contest in 2019.

“Mr. President should take the courageous decision. If we don’t see such decisiveness, we will help him out of Aso Rock in 2019”.
