ASABA/Nigeria: The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, has underscored the importance of collaboration between the Legislative Arms and the Executive at the local government level to foster enhanced grassroots development. Guwor made these remarks while hosting representatives from the Delta State Councillors Forum on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
Commending the Councillors Forum for their acknowledgment and support, the Speaker called on them to actively engage in robust legislative practices within their respective local government areas. He emphasized the crucial role of the Legislative Arms in achieving good governance at the grassroots level, urging the representatives to closely collaborate with their Chairmen.
During the meeting, Hon Emmanuel Owholo, the Leader of the delegation and Head of the Udu legislative arm, extended congratulations to Speaker Guwor and the Principal officers of the house for their leadership roles in the 8th Assembly, while expressing optimism about the Assembly fostering a symbiotic relationship between its members and local government legislators.
The meeting was attended by Principal officers of the Delta State House of Assembly, signifying the significance of the discourse on collaborative efforts for local development.
