STEP DOWN Meeting Fail to Hold in Abuja

-NNPC, FGN Fail to Honour meeting
-AGIP send in a Junior Officer

Abuja, Nigeria: The step it down agitation by the youths in Ndokwa for the Independent Power Plant at Okpai, Ndokwa East LGA with the support of some Ndokwa leaders could not hold as expected today, 10/11/15 because some parties to the meeting was not present.

According to the source at the meeting venue, at Force headquarters, Abuja, the various interests’ group lead by Hon Ossai Nicolas Ossai, the member representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani federal Constituency at the national Assembly was at the venue of the meeting as scheduled, by the Inspector General of Police.
The meeting which was organized to broker truce and find a common ground for the actualization of the objective without violence was initially postponed to today to enable the various parties, especially the NNPC and AGIP to be prepared, but at today’s meeting, while the National Petroleum Corporation was not present, AGIP Oil company sent in a junior officer to represent the company.

Based on the absence of the NNPC, the nation’s oil regulator, and the sending of a junior officer by the AGIP Company the meeting was rescheduled to 5pm to allow the two company’s time and space to be well represented.

However, based on the information from force headquarters as at 5pm, there was no response from the two bodies, believing that the third reschedule time of 10 am on Wednesday, 11 November, 2015 will hold.

Those present at today’s meeting were, Hon Ossai N. Ossai, Mr. Rodney Odili, Mr. Ossai Udom, leaders of Page Group International (PGI), Ndokwa Youth Congress, Ndokwa Arise, Ndokwa Initiative Network, Ndokwa Neku Union, Save Ndokwa Nation, the representatives of the Inspector General of Police, the Representative of the Delta State Police Command, the Legal adviser of NNU.
