The Transition Chairman, Ndokwa West LGA has called on the people of the area to help the members of the Nigerian legion and their families. The Chairman, Hon Emmanuel Okwaji made this statement on the occasion of this year’s Armed forces Remembrance Day Celebration and Emblem Launching.
The chairman told the gathering that the ex-servicemen and their dead colleagues had done great job in the life and stability of Nigeria, says that it will not be out of place for members of the society to help those still living and the children of the dead.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Ndokwa West Chapter of the Nigerian Legion, Major Menene (RTD), decried the rate of restiveness in the country and called for concerted effort to stern the trend. According to Major Menene, the security agents are doing much they can, but extra effort from the citizens is needed to win the war on insecurity in the country.
The Chapter Chairman also used the occasion to solicit help from the general public for the sustenance of the members of the Legion and the families of the fallen ones.
Meanwhile, Rev. Adoh Odagwe of the church of God Mission, Kwale in his opening prayer called for God direction and spirit of love to allow brotherly love, sharing and unity in the country. He said that without this, the efforts of Nigerians to existence will be in vain.
