ABUJA/Nigeria: The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has issued a stern warning to its former National President, Dr. Honour Sirawoo, demanding the prompt return of all documents and property belonging to the association.
In a letter dated April 17, 2024, addressed to Sirawoo by SWAN’s Secretary-General, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, the association emphasized that the withheld items are vital for the effective functioning of the organization.
Among the listed items expected for retrieval are the Original Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) Certificate of SWAN, details of appointed patrons, and any other document, property, or asset belonging to the National Secretariat.
The letter conveyed, “You were ordinarily meant to properly hand over these items immediately after the Triennial Congress on July 13, 2023, which signalled the end of your tenure. Due to exigencies associated with the use of the above at the Secretariat, you are required to make them available within the next 7 days from the date this letter was issued.”
SWAN’s directive underscores the urgency of the matter and the association’s determination to ensure the smooth operation of its affairs.
