UGHELLI/Nigeria: In line with the Smart Agenda of the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Team Ibori for Okowa 2019, a pressure group working for the return of the Governor to Government House in 2019, has carried out an empowerment programme which was powered and sponsored by an Ambassador of the group Amb. Prince Sony Jifa Ogbon .
The empowerment programme was held at the headquarters of Olomu ward 1, Ughelli South Local Government Area where 68 persons benefited.
The beneficiaries were youths, men and women from the five communities that make up Olomu ward 1 ( Okpavuerhe Olomu, Ogoni Olomu, Ophori Olomu, Agbon-Olomu, and Okpe Olomu). They were empowered with cash to go into small scale business.
The State Coordinator, Team Ibori for Okowa 2019, Hon. Edmond Guanah, and the Ughelli South chapter Coordinator, Hon. Adeshoke applauded Prince Sony Ogbon for doing what some politicians that have political appointments and elected offices cannot do for their people and for promising to do more to support Governor Okowa’s Smart Agenda.
The Ughelli South Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) chapter Chairman, Hon. Djegbe Oshetigho Michael, thanked the sponsor for his philanthropic works and also admonished the beneficiaries to make sure they get their Permanent Voters Cards ( PVCs) to enable them vote Dr. Okowa again in 2019.
Present at the ceremony were the Leader of the ward, High Chief Milton Owhovoriole, the Secretary of the Ward, Barr. Joel Opete, Chief Friday Erhuen, Chief Godwin Omodemuke, Chief Philip Owhoreko, Mr. David Akpoteheri amongst many more.
