UGHELLI/Nigeria: Team Ibori for Okowa 2019 a social political group working round the clock to ensure the re-election of the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, in 2019 on Saturday decorated another son of Ughelli South Local Government Area, Chief Prince Eveutapha, as an Ambassador of the group.
During the ceremony, which took place at Chief Eveutapha’s residence at Otokutu, the State Coordinator of the group, Hon. Edmund Guanah, said that decorating him as an Ambassador of the group is not for just formality sake but because he has a lot of followers in Ughelli South Local Government Area.
Hon. Guanah told their new Ambassador that the group is involving him in the re-election of Senator Okowa project come 2019 to enable him come into the group with his large followers so that Senator Okowa’s victory in Ughelli South can be achieved.
He restated the aims and objectives of the group based on the political philosophy of a former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, which is equity, fairness and justices as regards the rotation of power among the three Senatorial Districts in the state.
In his response, Chief Eveutapha thanked the group for finding him worthy to be decorated as an Ambassador and promised to work tirelessly with the group to make sure Senator Okowa returns to Government House, Asaba, in 2019.
He went further to inform those present of his ambition to run for the Delta State House of Assembly, Ughelli South Constituency seat in 2019 and promised to deliver the dividends of democracy if elected .
The Group’s aims and objectives were presented to Chief Eveutapha by Hon. Stephen Asheshe, after which he was decorated as an Ambassador by the Woman Leader, Team Ibori for Okowa, Patani Local Government chapter, Miss Helen Abeki, thereafter an Award of Excellence was presented to him by the Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Youth Mobilization, Deacon Efekemo Onoriode.
Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Vice Chairmanship candidate for Ughelli South, Chief Mathew Ofioguma, Chief Felix Adanse,
Chief Dr. Newman Ighedo, Comrade Akpos, Andrew Guanah, Happy Tina, among many others, witnessed the ceremony.
