UGHELLI/Nigeria: The Ughelli South chapter of Team Ibori for Okowa 2019 have been inaugurated with a call on the new local government EXCO to work closely with all stakeholders in various wards of the local government area to ensure that the Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, is re-elected in 2019.
Commissioner representing Ughelli South, Udu and Warri Local Government Areas on the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission ( DESOPADEC), Chief Amos Itiwhe, who gave the charge during the ceremony, commended the aims of the group which is bent towards the returning of Senator Okowa in 2019, promising to work with the team to actualise its objectives.
The Executive Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Area, Dr. Richard Kofi, who was represented by the Secretary to the Council, Hon. Joseph Ubrurhe, thanked the group for their selfless work and assured them that the whole of Ughelli South will work with the team any day, any time.
Speaking during the event, the State Coordinator of the group, Hon. Edmond Guanah, made it clear that the group is on ground to work for the emergence of Governor Okowa during next year’s gubernatorial election, adding that the Okowa’s led administration has the development of the younger ones as his priority which is evident in his appointment, offices created and policies.
At the ceremony, a keynote lecture was presented by Dr. Emmanuel Avwarosuoghene Mede, on the theme of the occasion: Restructuring: A Pivot For Socio-Economic and Political Development.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Engr. Ejovi Andasen, inaugurated the new officers. Those inaugurated are Hon. Andrew Adushoke – Coordinator, Comrade Akpos Kedienhon -Secretary, Hon. Asheshe Stephen – Treasurer, Hon. Wisdom Umolo – Assistant Secretary, Comrade John Kpekpeduke – Financial Secretary, Comrade Charles Ugbedia -Youth Leader, Mrs. Fine Disi – Woman Leader, Barr. Emmanuel Oginibo – Legal Adviser, Hon. Joseph Uhawha – Organising Secretary, Chief Felix Ogboru – Assistant Financial Secretary, Mrs. Margret Ovurosa – Provost, Comrade Joel Omonemu – Director of Operations, Hon. Faith Kpohrarhor – Director of Media, Comrade Kenneth Onoyivwe – Ex -Official, Comrade Benjamin Origbon – Ex- Official, Engr. Opharomavua Monday – Ex- Official, Dr. Francis Taga – Ex- Official, and Comade Lucky Oguma – Ex- Official.
The ceremony was attended by leaders of thoughts cut across the state amongst whom are, Hon. lucky Arusaya, who represented Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Delta Central Chairman, Chief Dr. A. P Fovie, Jifa Daniel who represented an Ambassador of the group, Amb. Prince Sony Ogbon, Hon Fred Toje, Olorogun Goddy Ighoavwota, Mr Mathew Oji, Member, Delta State House of Assembly, Ughelli South, Hon. Reuben Izeze, represented by Chief Godwin Sito , Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilisation, Deacon Onoriode Efekemo, the State Secretary of the group, Mr. Mathew Oji, among many others.
Ughelli South chapter is the fourth to be inaugurated so far in the state.
