SAPELE/Nigeria: The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and Evangelist Michael Diden, the Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) have advised Nigerian women to pray fervently for the Country.
Rt. Hon. Oborevwori who delivered his speech as a special guest of honour on the occasion of the 2021 women’s convention of the Mega Praise Church International incorporated, Sapele, said, ” A time such as this” when the Nigerian society is experiencing myriads of killings and other social vices, the women needed to pray ceaseless.
Hon Oborevwori who was represented at the epoch making event by his Chief of Staff, Olorogu Ebenezer Okorodudu, told the congregation of Women from across other branches of the ministry at their headquarters in Sapele that their 2021 theme ( A TIME SUCH AS THIS) Esther 4:14 is apt considering the turbulent times we are into at the moment.
He applauded the women who came out massively for this year’s programme for organising a pack full life changing activities , which he claimed was better than previous year’s as he described it as” an eventful programme which has international standard ”
Hon. Evangelist Diden who is the founder and general overseer of the church in his very short but soul searching sermon, appealed to the women that with the topic which they have chosen for themselves this year, none of them should go and sleep until peace takes over the country once again.
The man of God who read the Bible from the book of Mathew, 22 verse 34, said the purpose of this year’s WOMEN CONVENTION “is to put our enemas into shame and silence.”
He asked the woman a salient question which says, “If you are asked, what is the message you brought home from this year’s convention what would you tell the people at home?” Just as he appealed to all of them to love everybody like themselves like Jesus Christ himself who paid the Supreme sacrifice for our sins.
He told them that ” your message to your people is that they should love others so much like Ejele who love His God so much, which is the basis for our worship service to God and the foundation of Christianity ”
He emphasised that man from the beginning, is a political animal, therefore, we as Christians, we should engage in politics so that we can be in a better stead to attend to the needs of our people in a true Democratic setting.
One of the guest preachers, Pastor Mrs Precious Iyoha, prayed for the visitation of God upon the women in every aspect of their life as the programme lasted.
The wife of the general overseer, Evangelist Mrs Mary Diden who warmly welcomed all the participants to the event in her opening speech, appealed to the member and visitors for donations of cash amounting to three million naira to enable the complete their ongoing projects at other branches of the church including empowerment programme for the over 500 less privileged woman of the entire church put together.
