Ozoro: The Governor of Delta State Dr. Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has cried out over lack of fund in the state, saying it is affecting the economic and social development plans of his administration.
The governor made this statement during the recent town hall meeting held in Ozoro, for the Isoko North and South constituencies.
According to him, the blood stream of the Nation including Delta state is oil economy which the price has gone down drastically as a result of pipe line vandallization in the riverine area, which he called criminal acts.
“This criminal act has affected so much in the payment of primary school teachers and local government council workers”.
Speaking on the delay in the payment of salary of some state workers is because of the huge salary budget of the state which runs up to N7billion monthly, attributing the cause of the heavy monthly salary budget to persons who receive salaries without working.
“ Some workers are not being paid is because there are Some personnel’s who receive salary without working thereby causing government to run out of Cash”.
The governor pointed out that his government is not in hurry to carryout employment in the state, until the economy improves, as he urge Deltans to keep praying for him and his administration to enable him carry out any project he embarks on.
