OKPANAM/Nigeria: It was a glorious ending to a 3-day interdenominational crusade and praise night held for Okpanam citizens at St. Mulumber College, Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday.
Residents of the town and environs trooped out in large numbers with many of them bringing their chairs as the venue was full to capacity early.
The Founder of Lumen Christi Adoration Ministry, Rev. Fr. David-Mario Dibie, who rounded up the programme, told the people to embrace God and believe in prayers as that will remove the ugly pattern in the community and in their lives.
He reminded them that the very potent alter of God of several years ago is still the same alter of today, warning that people should live righteous life to avoid the wrath of God.
The Ugoani of Okpanam, His Royal Majesty, Michael Mbanefo Ogbolu, expressed satisfaction with the turn out of his subjects to the crusade describing it as very successful.
He said that traditional system of bringing peace and prosperity to the community did not achieve the desired results hence the decision of the people to run to God.
The state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, said that it was a good thing that the people of the community decided to hand their affairs over to God, adding that the presence of the Traditional Ruler of the town and his Chiefs during the programme showed the seriousness attached to it.
Mr. Ukah advised the people to hold on to God and see how peace, prosperity and progress will come into the community as God does not disappoint those who trust in Him.
The Ihono of Okpanam, Chief Dominic Anyasi, called on the organisers of the crusade to make it an annual event to draw the people nearer to their creator.
High points of the night was the blessing of the Ugoani and his Chiefs by Rev. Fr. Dibie, who also burnt several charms, fetish objects and idols brought by some persons that needed deliverance from satanic bondage
