Thumbs Up To Bob-Manuel Udokwu As He Joins The Prestigious Diamond Club (OPINION) By Sandra Ijeoma Okoye

If a birthday anniversary is a good time for taking stock, Bob-Manuel Udokwu’s 60th birthday on April 18, which automatically admitted him into the prestigious Diamond Club of Life, by virtue of his new age, offers the perfect reason to express a dispassionate view about his services to humanity, particularly in the areas of entertainment and politics.

Thus, to unemotionally take stock of his contributions to humanity in this context, it expedient to peep into the flurry of congratulatory messages that highlighted his birthday, that no doubt gave him admittance to become a proud affiliate of the proverbial Diamond Club exclusively meant for those whom God has blessed through long life and prosperity.

Against the foregoing backdrop, it is expedient to opine that one of the congratulatory messages crafted to wish him a happy birthday by no other personality than President Muhammadu Buhari, and delivered through his media aide, Femi Adesina, in Abuja, applauded the entertainment industry, particularly the Nollywood, where the notable actor had held sway for many years, featuring in more than 200 movies speaks volumes about Bob-Manuel’s achievement in Nigeria’s movie industry and in politics.

The president in his congratulatory message referenced the influencing role of Bob-Manuel in the structuring of Nigeria’s movie industry, with a strong global presence and recognition, serving in various capacities as actor, director, and producer.

Without a doubt, the movies wherein he performed are unarguably legendary as they have continued to make many people across homes to be entertained and, and in the same vein serve as a way to reduce stress. The reason for the foregoing cannot be farfetched as watching movies can make people forget their problems, and also provide them with an alternative opportunity to ameliorate the rising rate of anxiety that has characterized many lives due to mounting economic challenges. Thus, watching movies can have a positive emotional impact, and Bob-Manuel has for many years remained one of the key players in Nigeria’s movie industry, aptly called “Nollywood”.

Against the foregoing backdrop, there is no denying the fact that thoughts and images that usually come from his roles have kept many homes bubbling with laughter and happiness so easily that not a few of his fans have found a high dose of catharsis in his talent. In fact, acting had never been so good and had rarely been entertaining this way until Bob-Manuel came on stage as he is known for playing acting roles that boost mood, enhance relaxation, and motivate watchers. Not only that, his roles improve relationships, reduce stress, and inspire social and cultural reflection.

For the sake of clarity, it is expedient to contextually walk those that are not conversant with his background through his profile thus: Bob-Manuel Obidimma Udokwu was born on April 18, 1968. Better known as Bob-Manuel Udokwu, he is a veteran Nigerian actor, director, producer, and politician. He earned the Lifetime Achievement award at the 10th African Movie Academy Awards.

At the University of Lagos in Lagos State, he earned a master’s degree in political science with a concentration in international relations.

As his sister-in-law, by virtue of being the husband of my twin sister, Cassandra Joseph, permit me to say that Bob-Manuel’s next years are surely going to be kinder to him than the previous years that saw him recording a series of successes, this is partly because of his determination and the grace of God.

In fact, Bob Manuel has been a star of the movies almost from the time Nollywood began, so it is no surprise that he made it years before he attained the age of 60 which has now given him the automatic ticket that now qualifies him to become a member of the proverbial Diamond Club. This is a man who has helped define our sense of fun in the first place. Small wonder that he seems a monument that has been able to withstand the vicissitude of life in the entertainment industry.

Against this backdrop, permit me to in this context give him a thumbs up For Bob-Manuel for Joining the prestigious Diamond Club.
