Chief Christopher Ogoegbunem Ijibike
Chief Christopher Ogoegbunem Ijibike says its time to change Ukwuani local government area of Delta state with headquarters at Obiaruku. Chief, Ijibike one of the Aspirants to the office of the Chairmanship of Ukwuani LGA, hails from Obiaruku and married with children, as a patriotic Nigerian and a faithful Deltan, Chief Ijibike decided to serve the good people of Ukwuani local government as a Council Chairman, looking at his profile one will understand that Ijibike is an experienced man in the world of public service. In 1972 he attended Nakus Stengraphic Institute at Obiaruku, Delta state. In 1976 he went to the Exam Success Correspondence College Yaba Lagos state, and In 1978 Ogoegbunem bagged a degree in Business training limited Manchester United Kingdom.
Ogoegbunem Christopher Ijibike in quest for proper education bagged training qualifications and award at Business awareness course at United kingdom and Netherlands, Interpersonal Leadership skills course, Problem and Decision Analysis course, Supervisory skill course, Works method course and Effective communication course respectively. He did not stop there, he had Diploma in Management secretarial administration, Diploma in Business English, pitman 50WPM typewriting, pitman 120WPM shorthand and general certificate of Education.
However, at various sessions, Chief Ogoegbunem received award of Excellence by National Association of Delta state students, State patron actors guild of Nigeria, Federated Union of Ndokwa students award of service to humanity, Akashiede welfare Assembly Award for promotion of Ndokwa culture and lion of the year award by Effurun lions club of Warri, He has experience in politics which includes PDP local government campaign committee, Reconciliation committee, Delta people network, Delta reform Network as a national leader, Delta grassroots movement as a state publicity secretary, Ndokwa Democratic forum, Out Oganisu Ukwuani, Delta state presidential campaign, Delta state public office holders summit for prospective appointees, Delta north leaders forum, Delta north traditional rulers forum, PDP state assistance financial secretary, Insiders social club to mention but few.
Chief Ijibike has worked in many establishments which includes Nigerian Hardwood company limited, college of education Abraka now Delta state University, Shell petroleum development company, NYSC local government committee, Delta state hospital management board and presently the chairman and managing director of KUTZ hospitality services.
He is a visionary man, worthy to be chairman, In an interview with Ogoegbunem,he told newsmen at the PDP secretariat his intensions, plans and programmes he has set aside if elected into the office of local government council as chairman in Ukwuani clan. He opined that he will definitely bring democracy dividends to Ukwuani people and also project that minority tribe in the National face of things, he noticed that the presence of government have not been felt by the people at the grassroots, therefore is motivated to use his discretion in bringing government to all Ukwuani sons and daughters door steps by ensuring good governance and chairmanship, which most administration have not provided.
He further stated that the caretaker administration is dependent and could not do anything because they made no pledge, but in the case of if elected, we are accountable to the people because our manifestos contains bases for us to be judged after the tenure is over. The Chief also gave an insight on how to tackle crime in the council, he stressed that youths are his first agenda, emancipation and empowerment of youths is paramount, he mentioned that employment is the key, both skill and unskilled labour, self employment, skill acquisition and training facilities will be put in place to engage the youths and get them out of streets, adding that he had plans and a road map of things to be done to better the lives of our people, and there is no basis to compare elected administration and care taker committee administration, and that the situation today in the society exposes youths to a lot of vices, so his administration will open ways to better peoples lives, he said there will be orientation programmes for youths in order for them to learn how to get fish to better there lives.
He advised Ukwuani people that leadership is not one man business, he needs the support of the people in order to perform efficiently in the council, and youths should shun violent during the election period.
