The event, organised by Advocate Publication Limited, publishers of Advocate Newspaper, will take place at Wetland Hotel, Ughelli, by 10:00 a.m., with a strong focus on the theme: “From Ballot to Patronage: Why Electoral Victory Fails to Deliver Good Governance in Nigeria.”

The lecture is expected to draw a high-profile audience, including the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, who will attend as Special Guest of Honour.

Also billed to grace the occasion are Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central, and renowned businessman, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, OON, as Guests of Honour.

The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Charles Apoki, an international conference speaker and governance advocate, who is expected to provide critical insights into the disconnect between electoral success and effective governance in Nigeria.

The event will be chaired by Professor Patrick Muoboghare, a respected scholar and community leader, while seasoned journalist and former Editor of The Guardian, Olorogun Abraham Ogbodo, will serve as moderator.

Guest discussants expected to enrich the conversation include Barrister Omemiroro Ogedegbe, CSP Omosetemi Agbede-Zuokumor, and Chief Monday Ogheneruona Itoghor.

The organisers say the lecture is designed to stimulate meaningful dialogue on governance, accountability, and the role of leadership in Nigeria’s democratic evolution.

Host of the event, Mr. Shedrack Onitsha, urged stakeholders, professionals, and members of the public to take advantage of the platform to engage in conversations that could shape the future of governance in the country.

With attendance expected from across sectors, the lecture series is positioned as a significant forum for thought leadership, policy reflection, and civic engagement in Delta State and beyond.
