Tompolo Denies Threat to FG, Reaffirms Loyalty to President Tinubu

High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo

WARRI/Nigeria: High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has denied reports circulating on social media claiming that he gave the Federal Government a 21-day ultimatum to release the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

In a statement signed by his Media Consultant, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, Tompolo, who is the Ibe-Ebidouwei of Ijaw Nation and Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, described the publication as false, mischievous, and a deliberate attempt by detractors to tarnish his image.

“We wish to state unequivocally and unambiguously that Tompolo did not author the said publication. High Chief Ekpemupolo has nothing to do with the issue of Nnamdi Kanu. It is clearly the handiwork of Tompolo’s enemies, who are out there to discredit and pull him down because of his stand against illegal crude oil activities in the Niger Delta region,” the statement read.

Dr. Bebenimibo emphasized that those behind the fake report have failed in their campaign of calumny, noting that Tompolo remains committed to eradicating oil theft and illegal bunkering in the Niger Delta.

“Tompolo will not relent in carrying out his duties to totally eradicate illegal oil activities in the region,” he stated.

Reaffirming his loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the statement added that Tompolo stands firmly with the Federal Government and fully supports the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“We wish to reassure the Federal Government, led by our dynamic President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that Tompolo is with him and will continue to support the renewed agenda of his government. We also wish to add that Tompolo remains firm and reaffirms his endorsement of Mr. President for a second term and continues to work for its realization,” the statement said.

The statement urged the Federal Government and the general public to disregard the viral publication in its entirety, stressing that it did not emanate from Tompolo or his media office.
