WARRI/Nigeria: The President General of Igbudu Market Traders Association Warri, Comrade Oghenerume Kugbere has made a passionate appeal to the relevant authorities for the clearance of the canal in the market.
The President General of the biggest market in Delta State made the appeal in an exclusive media interaction with our correspondent at his office in the market on Wednesday 23rd March, 2022.
He noted that the market and neighbouring areas, particularly College of Commerce Warri (the current Delta State Champions of Principal Cup) were always bedeviled with the perennial problem of flooding.
Rume as he is fondly called, stated that traders and affected areas were apprehensive of the problem of flooding now that the rainy season was fast approaching.
He then appealed to the relevant authorities to act fast before the commencement of the rainy season.
The President General of Igbudu Market Traders Association also appealed for the installation of security lights.
He explained that the appeal was made inorder to give the market a security boost mostly at night.
Comrade Oghenerume Kugbere who was elected and inaugurated along four other executive members of the association recently, seized the opportunity to expressed appreciation to members of the association for their support
He promised to operate an open system of administration where he said every member will be carried along.
Rume called on members of the association to sustain the peace and unity among themselves in the interest of their progress and growth of the market.
Other executive committee members of Igbudu Market Traders Association were Igbudu Agbarha Warri born Chief Lucy Dede (nee Essi) General Chairlady, Evangelist Philomena Eroghenevwovhe Okonkwo Secretary General, Mrs Onoriode Enemengi, Treasurer General and Comrade Festus Omoko, Financial Secretary.
