President of the Ubulu-Uku Development Union (UDU), Warri Branch, Dr. Charles Ikedikwa Soeze has commended the efforts of the Delta State Police Command for arresting six (6) suspects over the kidnap and eventual murder of the king of Ubulu-Uku, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Obi Edward Akaeze Ofulue III, Agbogidi, the Obi of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom.
Dr. Soeze, a mass communication scholar, commentator on local, national and international issues and retired Assistant Director (Administration)/ Head, Academic and Physical Planning (A&PP) of the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, Delta State, made the statement recently when the Obior Improvement Union (OIU) Warri Branch led by its President, Mr. Frank Onwuegbuzie and the Vice President, Mr. Besomni Ogbu paid a condolence visit to UDU Warri Branch at its regular meeting to commiserate with the people of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom on the extra judicial killing of their king.
The condolence letter which was signed by the president, OIU, Mr. Frank Onwuegbuzie and the secretary, Mr. Stephen Osemeke, urged the people of Ubulu-Uku Kiingdom to take solace in the Lord for the fact that the articulate experience, agile, indomitable, young versatile king with wide educational attainment in the law profession died in Christ whom he served diligently, enthusiastically and consciously to the best of his human ability and agility.
Speaking further, the president of the UDU Warri Branch, appealed to the Delta State Police Command not to put the matter in oblivion, adding that faster and intensive investigation should be urgently pursued and probably more suspects be arrested and the matter be charged to a court of competent jurisdiction urgently so that the law of the land be judiciously and competently applied for the betterment of all Nigerians.
Dr. Soeze used the opportunity to appeal to journalists covering the story to work in concert with the State Police Command and engage in investigative journalism and in-depth reporting so that the matter is appropriately dealt with.
