Ugbomah Defends Oborevwori’s Achievements, Dismisses APC Criticism

ASABA/Nigeria: Engr. Philip Ugbomah Chukwumah, Executive Assistant for Project Monitoring, Evaluation, and Audit to the Delta State Governor, has dismissed recent criticisms from the All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding the achievements of the state government under Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

Speaking at his office on January 13, 2025, Ugbomah referred to the opposition’s claims as baseless, stressing that the state government has made significant strides in infrastructure and governance. He highlighted the equitable distribution of infrastructure across Delta State’s 25 local government areas, with particular emphasis on the timely completion of the Beneku Bridge.

He noted that the bridge, an inherited project, had been completed under strict supervision, meeting all contractual agreements and receiving the necessary funding to ensure its successful delivery.

“Projects across the state, including those in Ndokwa Nation, are being carried out with diligence and commitment. Contractors are held accountable, and there is zero tolerance for substandard work,” Ugbomah said, underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring high-quality infrastructure development.

The Executive Assistant also addressed the security situation in the state, pointing to the state government’s support for security agencies. Ugbomah emphasized that Governor Oborevwori’s leadership had ensured that the joint security task force was well-equipped, contributing to the state’s reputation as a safe haven for investors.

“Delta State has become the preferred destination for investors, particularly from the East. With our improved security infrastructure, Asaba and its surrounding areas have witnessed a surge in investment,” Ugbomah remarked.

Responding to APC’s statements, which he called “toothless” and “laughable,” Ugbomah rejected claims that Governor Oborevwori was considering defection to the APC. He firmly stated that such speculations were unfounded and did not reflect the state’s real progress.

“Light and darkness have no relationship. Our administration is committed to progress, and no opposition can alter the momentum of our development,” he said.

He  assured Delta residents that the M.O.R.E (Meaningful, Original, Responsive, and Effective) Agenda initiated by Governor Oborevwori would continue to meet its promises, ensuring tangible results for the people of the state.

“We remain committed to fulfilling every promise made to Deltans, and we will continue to drive progress with dedication,” Ugbomah concluded.

His statements further reaffirm the state government’s focus on quality infrastructure, security, and economic growth, despite opposition attempts to undermine its achievements.
