ASABA/Nigeria: Commendation had continued to trail the announcement of the proposed “Operation Delta Hawk” security outfit by the Delta State government to help to put in check the increasing insecurity being experienced in most part of the state.
Reacting to the development, the Chairman and Management of CPU Construction LLT Nig. LTD, and CPU Foundation, Engr. Philip Ugbomah Chukwumah, in an interview with Ndokwa Reporters, on Wednesday May 20, 2020, said the move by the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa is a commendable one, as the establishment will not only help to curb the spread of criminal activities in the state, but will also engage some Deltans as Vigillantes.
Ugbomah said ingenuity of the governor to think outside the box to institute the security outfit is a timely one as recent happenings had shown that a lot is still lacking in the security architecture of the state leading to breaches in many areas, especially with the ever increasing herders-farmers clashes which had resulted in the loss of lives and properties.
He pointed out that the governor need all supports to see that the idea of partnering with the locals to fight crimes in the state is successful.
“The action of the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to form the ‘Operation Delta Hawk”, which will be managed by the state government will not only help to curb the worsening security situation in the state, but from available information, it will engage local vigilantes as part of the outfit. The involvement of the locals will not only go a long way to curb criminal activities in the state, but also will be a form of livelihood for those that will be engaged by the programme.
Engr. Ugbomah who a staunch believer in the development of the youths as part of our national development, while lauding the government, called for supports of Deltans to see to the success of the project when it finally takes off.
