Ugoani Says Okpanam, Safe, Peaceful … As Maris Academy Holds Thanksgiving Mass

OKPANAM/Nigeria: The Ugoani of Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Council of Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Michael Mbanefo Ogbolu has said, the opening of Maris Academy was in line with the conducive environment provided by Okpanam community for socio-cultural and economic activities to thrive.
Speaking through the Secretary to Ugoani-in-Council, Elder Mathew Okafor, the Ugoani welcomed dignitaries who will grace the thanksgiving Mass of Maris Academy which will commence at 12 noon on Wednesday, July 25th, 2018.
According to the Ugoani, “we are happy that the school which we are aware is significant in many ways is having its first thanksgiving Mass, we are also happy that our Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, our former Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan and many important personalities will be in our community for the event.”
“Okpanam as part of the Delta State Capital Territory is very peaceful, we embrace visitors, especially those with good intentions and we will continue to welcome investors to our community, we will be at the thanksgiving Mass to welcome our Governor and other personalities you have confirmed will be at the occasion,” he said.
President, Okpanam Youths Organisation (OYO), Comrade Friday Okonkwo also, said, “this is a good development coming to our community, we always encourage people to come and develop their landed property in our community.”
“We believe that with the array of personalities who are coming for the thanksgiving Mass, it will draw attention to the need to construct the road from Okpanam to Issele-Azagba, connect us through motorable road to our local government headquarter, Akwukwu-Igbo and link us to Ugbolu,” he said.
He emphasised that Okpanam as part of the Delta State Capital Territory has roads that connects several commuhnities that will ease off traffic on the Benin/Asaba road when constructed, disclosing, “the road to Maris Academy is motorable and in good shape because, every year, through self efforts, we grade the road, as youths of Okpanam, we will remain peaceful, support our Governor and encourage developers to come to our community.
A statement signed by Chief Ken Olise and Comrade Fidelis Egugbo had stated that, “Rev. Fr. John Konyeke, Parish Priest, John Bosco Catholic Church, Asaba will be the Chief Celebrant at the Holy Mass which will have Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Deputy Governor Burutu Otuaro, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, former Deputy Governors, Amos Utuama (SAN), Chief Benjamin Elue, former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, Chief Godwill Obielum, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, Dr. (Pharm.) Nelson Ejakpovi,  Prince Ned Nwoko, Surv. Paul Osaji, Arch. Kester Ifeadi, among numerous personalities in attendance.”
