ONITCHA-OLONA/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Patrick Ukah, has described the Oganihu-Anioma as an apex socio-cultural organisation designed for the furtherance of the unity, growth and development of Anioma nation.
Mr. Ukah stated this at Onicha-Olona, Aniocha North Local Government Area, during the burial ceremony of one of the pioneer members of the group, late Chief John Chukwuemeke Agwuibe.
While saying that the deceased, in his life time, contributed immensely towards the realisation of the objective of Oganihu-Anioma, Mr. Ukah urged the children to sustain the legacies of their father.
The Basic and Secondary Education Commissioner, however, stated that the vacuum left behind by the death of the lover and advocate of Anioma progress would be difficult to fill, adding that the group and particularly himself was pained by his exit .
Also speaking, a chieftain of Oganihu-Anioma, Chief Engr. Hyacinth Enuha, recalled that the deceased was one of the top most members of the organisation.
He reiterated that the objective of the group was aimed at charting a formidable road map for the development of Anioma nation just as he called on all Anioma indigenes to remain united and always speak with one voice.
Responding, the younger brother of the deceased, Mr. Anthony Agwuibe, and the first son of the deceased, Mr. Nnamabia Agwuibe, appreciated the Basic and Secondary Education Commissioner and the entire Oganihu-Anioma members for finding time to identify with the family in their moment of grief and pledged to sustain the legacies of their father.
The duo specifically thanked them for their financial support to the family for the burial of one of their own.
