OKPANAM/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Patrick Ukah, has described tolerance and perseverance as key determinants for the success of every marriage.
Mr. Ukah stated this in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area, shortly after the traditional marriage ceremony between his younger brother, Mr. Tony Ukah, and former Miss Helen Isioma Awete.
While saying that he was happy to witness the marriage, Mr. Ukah advised them to strive towards strengthening the existing love between them.
The Basic and Secondary Education Commissioner thanked the State Commissioner for Finance, Sir Fidelis Tilije, the State Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Kingsley Esiso, his friend, Mr. Kingsley Eligbuem, and other well-meaning individuals for identifying with him.
Earlier, Sir Tilije, who stressed the need for the couple to love each other at all times no matter the circumstances, enjoined them to always put God first for the success of their marriage.
Sir Tilije also stated that perseverance and avoidance of third party influence were important aspects in marriage that should be taken seriously, just as he congratulated the couple.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen, the Special Assistant to the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Felix Ideh and the Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Waterways and Land Security, Hon. Chibueze Pino Aniemeke, described marriage as a very critical responsibility of every responsible man and commended Mr. Tony Ukah for taking the bull by the horn.
They particularly urged the couple to always see each other as best of friends and be truthful to each other as well as desist from things that could impact negatively on their marriage.
In an interview with journalists shortly after the ceremony, Mr. Tony Ukah said that his joy knew no bounds, adding that he and his wife would leverage on every available opportunity to build on their marriage and appreciated all and sundry for their encouragement as well as support.
