BENIN CITY/Nigeria: Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, a Delta State House of Assembly hopeful, and a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain in Ukwuani Local Area, have promised the people of the area, a better representation if given the ticket by the party, and voted to represent the people at the state house of assembly after the 2019 election.
The PDP chieftain who made the statement when he and his Reality Campaign Group, met with member of the PDP Board of Trustee, Dr. Mrs Esther Uduehi in Benin City, Edo state over the weekend, said that he will ensure that all existing uncompleted projects in the area will be revisited and completed.
“In Ukwuani, we have projects which were attracted to the area for more than 16 years, like the Obiaruku Township Stadium, I assure you that I will not fail to see that the projects is revisited for completion as it will enhance the economic and social life of my people.” He said.
Hon Ochor, while using the visit to formally congratulate her on her new position as BOT member, stated that as part of obeying the party guidelines to contest, he has met with the necessary conditions to seek for elective office as provided by the party, and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In her response, Mrs Uduehi said the party had told all aspirants to go work from the grassroots, as there will be no room for imposition of candidates on members of the party.
Speaking further, she admonished aspirants to see the primary as brotherly contest, as whoever emerge will represent the party as the party’s candidate, as she advised that to avoid accusations of imposition after the primary, aspirants should go back and identify the delegates, and talk to their conscious, convince them to vote for them.
“There will be nothing like imposition of candidate, the party has advised all aspirants to go work from the grassroots, identify the various delegates, and convince them to vote for you. That is the party decision. That should be what you should do.”
“At the end of the primary, we will retire to queue behind the selected person by our party. It’s a family contest, and you all should see it that way.” She emphasised.
