UMUTU/Nigeria: In appreciation of the good work the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa had carried out in the state, especially in Ukwuani Local Government Area, the President Generals and Secretary Generals in a unanimous decision had passed vote of confidence on him, and the Representative of the Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Christopher Ochor Ochor, in a meeting held, Saturday, May 23, 2020.
Moving the motion for the vote of confidence, the Secretary General of the Amai Development Union, ADU, Mr. Afred Onyewosa, Seconded by the Secretary General of the Ezionum Development Union, EDU, Mr. Timothy Umukoro, the clan leaders stated that the harmonious relationship between the governor and the deputy speaker have favoured development within the local government area, especially in terms of physical and infrastructural development.
They pointed out that apart from the development which can be noticed as one travels through the local government area, the high number of political appointees is unprecedented, and this had helped to bring government closer to the people.
Responding to the move, the Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, encouraged the various clans in the council area to continue to observe peaceful living in their communities, and with neighbours, as it’s the only panacea to fast track physical and economic development of the local government.
“I Thank you for your confidence vote on our Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and by extension to my person as your representative. I assure you more of what we have gotten from this government will come, if we will continue to maintain peace in our various clans, and with our neighbours.” He emphasised.
