OBIARUKU/Nigeria: In a decisive move to reshape Ukwuani Local Government Area, the new administration has established the Ukwuani Strategic Policy Council, a 34-member team comprising interdisciplinary scholars drawn from the nine clans within the LGA. The council’s formation is part of the administration’s broader efforts to implement the #DoMoreAgenda and address key developmental challenges in the area.
According to a statement from the Ukwuani Council Chairman, the council’s members were carefully selected for their knowledge, wisdom, capacity, and experience. “The composition of this council includes men and women who possess the requisite knowledge, wisdom, capacity, and experience essential for the arduous yet feasible task before them,” the chairman stated.
Leading the council are Ven. Frank Emeni as Coordinator, Mr. Onyemechi Friday Ugbe as Deputy Coordinator, and High Chief Timothy Umukoro as Secretary. Other notable members include academics, professionals, and community leaders, such as Prof. Harrison Atagana, Prof. P. A. U. Ossai, Rear Admiral Olisemenogor (Rtd.), and Prof. Albert Ofuoku.

The council will be inaugurated in the coming days, during which it will begin work on several thematic areas critical to the LGA’s development. These include peace and security, agriculture and industries, environment, human capital development, infrastructure and utilities, and social services, among others.
“The policy council is expected to thoroughly examine these areas and provide a comprehensive report and recommendations,” the chairman emphasized.
The chairman also welcomed constructive criticism and positive contributions from the public, noting that such input would be valuable in further enhancing the development of Ukwuani LGA. “Your constructive criticisms and positive ideas will help better Ukwuani LGA,” the statement concluded.
