Obiaruku: The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State, has welcomed back 600 members who left the party weeks before the 2015 General Election in Nigeria.

The members who were received by the Chairman of the Ukwuani chapter of the party, Deacon Monday Ossai and the political Leader of the party in the area, Dame Esther Uduehi at the first General Meeting since after the last election at Iyemere Civic Centre, Obiaruku.
Welcoming the old members, Deacon Ossai asked the members of the party in the area to see the returnees as members without discrimination.

“We are all PDP members irrespective of what happened, as such we must treat them as one”. He said.
Also speaking at the occasion, Dame Esther Uduehi thanked the members for their efforts, to see the victory of the party in the LGA, especially since inception of the Forth Republic, where the party had never won the area.
Speaking further, the erstwhile governorship aspirant, said that it is now time to make the party stronger in the area, by having a united front, because, “Ukwuani is PDP and no other party can take that away, especially if we are united”.
The meeting which had almost all the political leaders of the party and political appointees in attendance agreed that in the forthcoming party congress, the party will work to present a consensus candidates, and if it fails they will go to the poll to elect the executives, but the era of imposition is over.
The other members who spoke at the meeting, appreciated the returnee members, who among them was the former Delta North Chairman of the party, Chief Eric Anigala, and a host of others.
Among those who attended the meeting were the Ukwuani LGA Council Chairman, Barr. Ndudi Osakunih-Izuegbu, Hon Ochor Chris Ochor, DESOPADEC, Executive Director, Hon Alphonsos Ojo, Member Representing Ukwuani at the State House of Assembly, Hon Chinoye Darphey, Board member, State Sports Commission and a host of others.
