Ukwuani Local Government Chairman Vows to Uphold Democracy’s Promise

UKWUANI/Nigeria: In an exclusive meeting with the Delta State Chapter of the Association of Community Newspaper Publishers, Hon Solomon Ajede, the Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Council, boldly reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to delivering the “dividends of democracy” to the people of Ukwuani until his term concludes.

During this pivotal encounter held in his official office, Chairman Ajede expressed his dedication to rewriting the narrative of political pledges, asserting that his primary motivation in entering politics was to fulfill the expectations of his constituents. He articulated his conviction that campaign promises can and should be fulfilled, emphasizing that the Ukwuani people deserve nothing less than the finest in governance and development.

Chairman Ajede took the opportunity to highlight a series of achievements accomplished under his administration’s purview. Notable among these achievements were the construction of a mini Ultra-Modern Market in Obi-Obeti, the establishment of the Amai Ultra-Modern Market, the reconstruction and renovation of two 5 and 6 classroom blocks at Ethiope Primary School in Umutu, and the construction of five mini bridges on Ezionum Farm Road.

Furthermore, he pointed to the construction of the state-of-the-art Okpala-uku Palace in Obiaruku, the Digitalization of the Council Secretariat, and the construction of the Ultra-Modern Abattoir and Meat Market in Obiaruku as examples of his administration’s dedication to progress. Additional accomplishments included the purchase of a 5KVA transformer for various streets in Obiaruku, the refurbishment of other transformers, the implementation of the “Light up Ukwuani Project Phase One,” and a range of empowerment initiatives, scholarship programs for Ukwuani students, ante-natal support for pregnant women, and empowerment programs for local farmers.

Chairman Ajede also divulged exciting prospects for his administration, disclosing that the second phase of his empowerment program would be groundbreaking. He further revealed plans for the Ukwuani First Unity Sports Festival, which he assured would soon commence and provide a platform for the discovery and nurturing of sporting talents with the potential for international recognition.
