Umuebu Community Appeals To DTSG For Commencement, Completion Of Road Project

OBIARUKU/Nigeria: Umuebu Community in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State has appealed to the state government (DTSG) to put measures in place towards commencing the phase two of the Umuebu / Obiaruku Road project.

Respondents who spoke on condition of anonymity said that the road, if completed, would play crucial role in the socioeconomic growth and development of the people of the community.

While commending the State Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, for the completion of the first phase over three years ago, the respondents recalled that there was a strong need for the administration to commence the second phase in order to link Umuebu Community to other communities in the area.

They noted that the project would impact positively on the lives of the people of the area, adding that the delay by the state government to start the second phase of the road project against its earlier promise could lead to the unnecessary impression that the project had been abandoned.

They said that the community had continued to be a stronghold of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and pledged their unalloyed support to the Okowa led administration, even as they lauded the state government for ensuring peaceful coexistence between Umuebu and Amai communities through effective boundary demarcations.
