Umusadege Gets New Onotu-Uku

staff-of-officeKwale: The Okpala-Uku of Umusadege, Utagba Uno, Ndokwa West local government area of Delta State has inaugurated Chief Ugbe Onya as the Onotu-Uku of the community.
Chief Ugbe Onya will complete the tenure of Chief Peter Adoh-Ugbomeh who passed on to the great beyond without completing the seven years tenure meant for his age grade to hold the position of the Onotu-Uku.
The Secretary of Onotu-Uku-in-Council of Umusadege Community, Chief Paul Ossai (JP) stated that Chief Onya who was “inaugurated as the Onotu-Uku of Umusadege Community on the 28th December, 2016 in accordance with our custom and tradition will complete the seven years tenure of his age grade.”
“Chief Adoh-Ugbome served for five years and two months before he passed on and our new Onotu-Uku who is accepted by all and sundry will serve till 2018,” the Secretary said.
He thanked the people of Umusadege Community and friends of the community for their understanding, stating, “Onotu-Uku Onya is a notable farmer who has contributed immensely to the growth of our community, we believe that he will continue to be a unifying factor and attract developmental projects to our community.”
