Umusadege Youth President Sues For Dialogue With Oil Prospecting Companies

KWALE/Nigeria: The Umusadege Kwale Youth President, Comrade Osondu Obieze, has appealed to Kwale youths to engage in dialogue rather than take laws into their hands when dealing with oil prospecting companies in Ndokwa West Local Government Area.
He stated this  at Kwale when the youths of Ndokwa West barricaded the Ogume Junction in protest of noncompliance by the oil prospecting companies on agreement reached between them and the host community.
The oil prospecting companies include Energia, Platform, Midwestern, Pillar Oil, and Sterling Global.
The youths are protesting that the companies failed to recruit the number of indigenes into their companies as agreed in the memorandum of understanding and that the complained have not fulfilled their promise to construct some roads in the community.
Motorists were not allowed to pass through for almost four hours. The situation was however brought under control with the quick intervention of the police.
