University Don Calls on Nigerians to Embrace Jesus

ABRAKA/Nigeria: Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Delta State University ( DELSU), Abraka, Prof. Austine Anigala, has said that although Nigeria has become an “ incubative factory” for moral decadence,, Jesus Christ remained the way out of the nation’s myriad challenges.
He also called on Nigerians to creatively explore what he described as the “ families of procreation and orientation” as that would help in breeding
emotionally intelligent and responsible citizens of Nigeria.
Anigala, who spoke in Aghalokpe during the 35th annual reunion convocation of the 1982 Graduands of SPCC, Aghalokpe, with the theme “Sustaining Integrity of Character in Contemporary Nigeria”, said Nigerians must realize the vanity associated with human lives as it would curb “Our quest for materialism.”
He said: “This will caution us to be careful and prevent us from toying with human lives and make us seek for the true source of sustainable and genuine integrity of character. Jesus is all we need to make Nigeria whole again.
“ Embrace Him and you will access peace, integrity and the enablement to transmit virtuous characteristics in our morally decadent society and transform you into a celebrated Icon of our time.
“This is informed by my analysis of N. Armstrong’s reflective assertion , when he stepped on the moon, in July 20, 1969, that any human being
that does not acknowledge the existence of God and does not avail his/herself of the opportunity to be endowed with divine performative fragrance,
is a great fool.”
The university don, therefore, argued that it was possible to develop, demonstrate and sustain integrity of character in contemporary Nigeria, “ If our mentor and helper is The Lord Jesus.”
