WARRI/Nigeria: The Commissioner representing Itsekiri Ethnic Nationality in the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC , Chief Thomas Ereyitomi has urged Nigerians regardless of religious differences to embrace peaceful co-existence.
Chief Ereyitomi who is contesting for the Warri Federal Constituency seat in the 2019 election, under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stressed that Nigeria is blessed as a multi-ethnic nation, adding that with mutual respect among people of different religious beliefs, peace will reign in the country.
According to Chief Ereyitomi, the tenets of Ramadan should be sustained beyond the holy month as a way of adhering to the teaching of the holy Qu’ran and exemplary qualities of Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him).
The Warri House Representatives hopeful, Chief Ereyitomi noted,” I join our brothers and sisters of Islamic faith in celebrating the end of Ramadan.
“The holy month of Ramadan is a special month in the Islamic calendar and as such, we should sustain the virtues beyond the holy month. “Let us embrace selflessness, piety, alms-giving, brotherhood and service to humanity in our daily lives.
He congratulated Muslim ummah in Warri Federal constituency, Delta State, the entire country and wish them happy Eid-el-Fitri celebration, appealed for their support to vote massively for PDP at 2019 poll.
