Ghana: The Apex body in Urhobo Nation, (UPU) has elected a new President General to oversee the affairs of the group for another term in Accra, Ghana. He is Chief Solomon Odemero Ojariafe aka Solodem, Ogidigboigbo 1, of Idjerhe Kingdom.
Chief Ojariafe who emerged the new president after a keen contest, commended Urhobo sons and daughters in Ghana for their peaceful, well behaved and successful conduct of the election, while also appreciating the electoral body of the UPU Ghana for their non partisan disposition and their qualitative leadership acumen displayed in the conduct of the election.
He assured the Urhobos resident in Ghana that under his leadership, he will lead with humility, diligence and as well be the president of all, just as he advised the Urhobos living in Ghana to be properly behaved and be good ambassadors of the Urhobos in Ghana, adding that all aggrieved persons in Ghana arising from the conduct of the election, should come together and join hands with the new administration to move Urhobo forward, stressing that “in unity, they could stand firmly, but in division they will fall,”.
He affirmed that as the president of Urhobo Progressive Union Ghana, “my doors are widely opened to all, to advise me on the way forward, and there must be a constructive criticisms from the people for the advancement of the body. And I also appreciate my predecessor, Chief Emmanuel Igbudu, the Eni of Udu Kingdom who piloted the body so well before I came on board as the new president general including the Eze-Ndigbo of Ghana, Eze Chuks and other Nigerian Community in Ghana and my executive officers for their support”.
He added, that as the new president of the Urhobo Progressive Union, Ghana, “I want to urge all sons and daughters of Urhobo Nations to embrace unity amongst ourselves as Urhobo Progressive Union was founded on the platform of peace, unity and progress for all Urhobos”.
Chief Ojariafe called on all U.P.U leaders in Nigeria to come together and resolve all outstanding issues and court cases in court pointing out that “that will foster peace, unity and love amongst ourselves”.
He said further that, U.P.U Ghana, is use this medium in welcoming back home Chief James Ibori, the Odidigborigbo of Africa, the Lion of the Urhobo Nation, explaining that now that he is back home, the Urhobo Nation will be much more stronger and united, praying that almighty God will continue to lead him as he Ibori is leading his people and the entire Urhobo into unprecedented prosperity.
The business magnate appealed all Urhobos, Deltans including Nigerians as a whole to rally round Chief James Ibori in whatever direction he wants the people to go because he is political tactician
that knows the game of politics so well and he will never deceive or disappoint his people, “follow him whether you are a man or woman in which never way he directs in politics”.
