ABRAKA/Nigeria: Urhuoka community in Ethiope East Local Government have celebrated their 2018 Urhuoka Annual Day with a call to always live together in peace and unity, develop the community and empower the youths even as the community appreciated and rewarded their sons and daughters.
In his address at the occasion, the President-General, Urhuoka Development Association (UDA), Hon Oghenekparede Abel expressed the association gratitude to HRM Akpomeyoma Majoroh, Ojeta II, the Ovie of Oruarivie Abraka Kingdom for his wisdom, leadership style and for being an exceptionally good father to all the subjects of his kingdom.
Hon. Abel also commended and awarded some of their sons and a daughter for what the association said was in recognition of their continued contributions towards the development of Urhuoka community.
The PG also enumerated some of his achievements in office to include: steady supply of electricity to the community, building and sustaining peaceful coexistence, mediating and resolving disputes amongst others.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of UDA Oguezi unit, Mr Samuel Okumakpeyi has commended the Urhuoka Development Association for what he described as an undeniable impact on the community and belief in Urhuoka agenda.
Mr Okumakpeyi who doubles as the President-General, Oguezi Community in Urhuoka also implored the UDA to be responsive to the yearnings of the community.
He called on the sons and daughters of the community to respect and have confidence in constituted authorities, nothing that the youths are the leaders of tomorrow and because of the enormous responsibilities of leadership, it is important they shun violence and embrace peace at all times, he said.
The Oguezi Community PG also thanked HRM, Akpomeyoma Majoroh, Ojeta II, Ovie of Oruarivie Abraka Kingdom for his unprecedented fatherly role in the Kingdom.
He also commended the member representing Ethiope East constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief (Hon) Evance Ochuku Ivwarie even as he appealed to him to prevail on the state government to expedite action on the construction and completion of the Health Centre in Urhuoka so that it can be put to use as soon as possible.
