The Ovueraye family of Oguezi Quarters, Urhuoka-Abraka in Ethiope East local government area of Delta State has refuted the claim by one Mr. Solomon Otajenehwe as the representative of the Family and the Oguezi Quarter in Oruarivie Youth body.
According to the press release made available to newsmen by the family, Mr. Solomon was initially nominated and elected as the president of Urhuoka youth but was later found unfit by the family and quarter that then passed a vote of no confidence on him which eventually led to his removal when he remained recalcitrant and unrepentant; and has since been replaced by Snr. Comr. Royal Oghojafor who have proven to be a far better leader both in character and conduct.
It was alleged that before his removal, Mr. Solomon was negligent; making and taking decisions unilaterally; disobedient to constituted authorities within the community and other stakeholders. Also, he continued to show an unpardonable incompetency and implementation of incoherent policies which are tantamount to the destruction of Oguezi
family’s collective future.
“We are by this letter withdrawing Mr. Solomon Otajenehwe of Ovueraye family, Oguezi Quarter, as the president and member of the Urhuoka and Oruarivie Youth.” the family said.
Some family sources added that, the vote of no confidence passed on him (Mr. Solomon) was largely due to negative representative attitude of the former president.
After his removal as the president, Mr. Solomon was said to have been going around claiming to be the Vice President of the Urhuoka youth and has also usurped the position meant for Comr. Friday Ogah whom the family has nominated to represent them and the Oguezi community as an Ex-official at the Oruarivie youth, the apex youth body in the kingdom.
Seeing that Mr. Solomon has remained unremorseful for his excesses, the family has therefore distant itself from him as its representative while describing his swearing-in as illegal adding that they do not recognize him as one of their own in that capacity.
According to the Ovueraye’s, they have written all relevant authorities not to have any dealings whatsoever with him as the family’s representative. Also, the public have been advised to see him as an imposter and a usurper whom they should do nothing with.
However, the President-General of Urhuoka Development Association, Mr. Freeborn Ukrakpor who is also a son of Ovueraye and Oguezi Quarter; the Chairman of Oguezi quarter, Mr. Samuel Okumakpeyi; the Okwa-in-Council, Pa. Peter Obiebi and the Ovueraye family have maintained that, Mr. Solomon remains one of their sons but not in any way their representative.
