The Delta State House of Assembly

The Valedictory session led by Rt.Hon.Peter Onwusanya has dissolved the 5th Assembly. A Valedictory session was conducted in honour of the outgoing house members, having approved the votes and proceedings last Wednesday the house proceeded to congratulate the members, and conducted a Valedictory session, in which the speaker of the house gave thanks to God.
Hon.Ojo member representing Ukwuani constituency in the State House of Assembly noted that it has been a very good association of members in the house, he thanked God for giving him the ability to legislate uptill now and the successful completion of the 5th assembly.
Hon.Daniel Mayuku stated that the chambers brought them together as one indivisible friends not minding their political party differences, he mentioned that four years back they were quarrelling, settling and dining in the course of performing their duties, he advised that they should hold that vital chord that held them together, commended the former speaker Rt.Hon. Victor Ochei for the work he did at the hallowed chamber, and to the present speaker Rt.Hon. Peter Onwusanya not minding the agitations a year ago when he emerged.
Hon.Pat Adijua thanked God and the people of Oshimili North constituency, she thanked other members for their support, and commended her husband who called her into politics with prayer, she also thanked Senator-elect Peter Nwaboshi who advised her to go for house of assembly position.
However,Hon.Duvie Gwane Gwane Jenkins lamented that the past governor of Delta state Dr.Emmanuel Uduaghan neglected him and Ughelli constituency, he said that he has been coming to the house for work with Keke Napepe, he paid his hotel bill by himself, and has no official car, he said that he never came to the house as poor man and will never leave the house a poor man. He appealed to the speaker to please help talk with the present governor to address his plight, we are all here to represent our people, in the next assembly, members should do the needful at the right time because there is a day of reckoning, he finally gave his God all the glory and honour.
Hon.Dennis Omovie noted that the 5th assembly failed woefully in their oversight functions due to over powering executive arm, he advised the incoming members to strive harder to ensure that legislative business is independent.
Hon.Friday Osanebi member representing Ndokwa East constituency noted that the English they hear today they hear more, adding that he came as a boy but now he is a man, when he came to the house, he came with so much expectation but Hon.Ochei thought me to be courageous we started very well but when ambitions came the house nearly fell apart, in politics no permanent friend or enemy but common permanent interest, he noted that inside the chambers there is crises, commended Ochei for teaching him a lot of things, we all came with different thinking, today everybody is blaming himself, but I will not blame myself, I have done well, though we have not gotten five months’ salary but no one will believe us, we will carry on, i pray that the state government will remember us, people thought that the we will not make it but by the grace of God we have conquered.
He said, in the 6th Assembly nobody will drag it with us, the outgoing members should take heart, he expressed his love to Hon.Ochei and wished him well and to Onwusanya he has done well too. He thanked the people of Ndokwa East for giving him another mandate.
